PUT YOUR RUNNING SHOES TO GOOD USE.
GIVE US YOUR OLD ONES AND WE WILL SEND THEM TO A PLACE WHERE THEY REALLY NEED THEM.
Shoe4Africa started in 1995. Just collecting shoes, sending them over to Africa so people could go out and run. Then they held races. Within a year they had the largest womens only race in Kenya and in Tanzania. Next came the promotion of Aids awareness. They used the races as platforms to hold health drives to give out information using elite athletes for this promotion and to endorse the importance of AIDS testing.
When political violence erupted they held peace races but realised that they wanted to do more so they embarked on their biggest project to date to build a $15Million childrens hospital to help in a catchment area of 22 million people. Sadly 80% of Kenyan children that die do so without receiving any healthcare or treatment.
You can also donate directly through their website but be assured that leaving behind your old running shoes when you buy new ones will help.
