The Newton Universal Racer.
This is the Cure Pink Distance running shoe, limited edition, and was created to support prostate cancer research. Newton Running Co-Founder, Jerry Lee has battled with prostate cancer since 2005 and is now a survivor. Professional athlete and official spokesperson for Athletes for a Cure, Michellie Jones is fighting the fight with Newton. This year Newton Running will donate 1 percent of all footwear sales to help find better treatments and a potential cure for prostate cancer.
Designed with Michellie's signature colour pink in mind, Newton has developed a running shoe for the most demanding athletes. Engineered for speed and performance, this ultimate long-distance racer helped Natascha Badmann set a world record in the Ironman 70.3 in 2007. The Newton Distance offers greater flexibility in the mid-foot region and its forefoot flex groove allows the feet to work naturally as if barefoot with maximum protection against ground forces. It’s been updated this year to include Newton's unique universal posting, which includes posting along the medial and lateral sides of the midsole to accommodate all types of running gaits.
With a low-to-the ground construction and Action/Reaction Technology in the forefoot, this eye-catching, lightweight racer gets you to the finish line with less impact and more speed.
The upper features a high breathability, fast-drying construction with open air mesh and minimal anatomical forefoot support strapping and Biolateral stretch panels for comfort and fit.
High rebound light-weight midsole offers firm cushioning and Biomechanical forefoot plate and flex grooves to increase communication between foot and the ground.
Universal Posting braces both the medial and lateral sidewalls and the midfoot of the shoe helping to guide the foot down the centre of the shoe. Regardless of whether you overpronate or supinate, this design results in a neutral, powerful propulsive lift-off.
Outsole utilises lightweight low-profile blown rubber heel and forefoot Action/Reaction Technology.

TIPS:
ADJUSTING TO YOUR NEWTON RUNNING SHOES REQUIRE AN ADAPTATION PERIOD FOR YOUR BODY.
BAREFOOT DRILLS. Start with 2-4 low-intensity barefoot strides, focusing on landing softly on your midfoot.
START SLOWLY. Begin with a short run. 1 mile, no more than 2.
THE 10-MINUTE RULE. Run every other day, increasing distance no more than 10 minutes each time. Rotate with your current shoes to maintain your fitness/training for at least 2 weeks. IF YOU FEEL UNUSUAL DISCOMFORT FROM RUNNING, IMMEDIATELY REDUCE INTENSITY AND VOLUME.
BUILD YOUR FOUNDATION. Do not introduce speed, intensity and distance until you have adjusted to the Newton Running shoes.
WHY BOTHER? Your connective tissue (muscle and tendon) and structure (the fine bones in your feet) need time to strengthen and adapt. Newtons allow your foot to feel the ground as if you were running barefoot. If you increase your running volume too quickly, you may experience calf tenderness.
FOCUS ON FORM. Good Natural Running form allows you to run with greater efficiency and less injury.
