The ASICS GT-2170 incorporates the ASICS' I.G.S. (Impact Guidance system), a design philosophy in which the individual components of the shoe work together to produce a more comfortable step and an improved gait. In addition, the rearfoot and forefoot GEL cushioning system places a silicone-based material in critical areas of the sole to dampen shock, allowing for a smooth movement through the step and reducing the risk of injury.
• Full-Length Guidance Line, a vertical flex groove in the sole running from heel to toe, which encourages a more efficient running style.
• DuoMax Support System, a dual density midsole material positioned sport specifically, enhances support and stability
• Discrete Eyelets: independently placed eyelets ensure the laces pass through the upper which disburse lace tension, both of which improve fit and reduce potential for irritation
• Rearfoot and Forefoot GEL® Cushioning System: Attenuates shock during impact and toe-off phases, and allows movement in multiple planes as the foot transitions through the gait cycle
• Guidance Line - places a visible groove in the mid and outsole that follows the foot's center of pressure from heel to toe
• AHAR (ASICS High Abrasion Resistant rubber) - Tough material placed in critical areas of heavy contact on the shoe for exceptional durability
