Saucony Peregrine (unisex)
The Saucony Peregrine is the trail running cousin of Sacony’s successful Kinvara : a low-profile, lightweight, minimal running shoe.
The Peregrine against most standard trail trainers is low profile. The heel toe ratio is an estimated 4mm. Most trainers come in around 12mm. This is a far flatter shoe than most trail runners, but still not a zero drop cross country platform either.
Runners who have transitioned to landing further forward on the foot (commonly “mid-foot” or “forefoot” striking) will find this shoe a welcome relief to attempting such a gait on the giant, jacked-up heels on many alternative running shoes. They also provide enough cushion under the forefoot; forefoot cushion prevents mangling the metatarsals while the more efficient gait strengthens the underused foot and lower leg muscles.
The Peregrine is super light at around 10 ounces. It will suit efficient runners looking for a low-profile, lightweight flexible off-road shoe.
