The new Fastwitch develops Saucony's very successful lightweight racing shoe one step further. The mesh upper has been upgraded again to improve comfort, moisture management and airflow. The shoe is now lighter than it's predecessor, but still offers the raceday medial support of the previous Fastwitch 2 Endurance.
Airmesh Upper:
To keep feet cool and comfortable, many Saucony styles now use airmesh in the upper. This material has a looser weave to promote circulation, having the dual effect of keeping the foot cool whilst also aiding evaporation as sweat is wicked from the skin.
I-Grid:
A lattice of EVA pillars working just as standard grid does to dissipate shock and cushion impact. I-Grid is a super-lightweight cushioning system used in our lightest racing shoes.
Dual Density: A firmer density of EVA located on the medial side of the midsole that slows the rate and controls the maximum angle of over-pronation.
Dual density EVA:
Dual density EVA is the industry standard method for controlling pronation. As the foot begins to roll towards the medial side (the inside), it meets the stronger second density material and is guided smoothly back to a more neutral position. By reducing the moments of pronation, the shoe reduces the rotation transmitted up the lower leg to help reduce the risk of injuries such as shin splints or "Runner's Knee".
